People who see a celebrity as a diet spokesperson believe that they “know” the person who is losing weight right in front of them. So what happens when this known person gains the weight [...]

Fashion & Style Skin Deep When Dieting Becomes a Role to Play By TAFFY BRODESSER-AKNER Published: August 2, 2011 Last year, another diet program, the Fresh Diet, parted ways with its famous “spokesdieter,” the pop singer Carnie Wilson, after she gained weight while under contract. “It didn’t work out with Carnie,” said Zalmi Duchman, chief executive for the Fresh Diet, which delivers fresh meals daily across the nation. “She dropped like 20 pounds in the first three months. Then she, I mean, she had to go off of it. There’s no question. She might have eaten the meals, but she [...]
‘Bridesmaids’ may have been a slam dunk at the box office, but not all of the film’s stars are rolling in the dough these days. Singer Carnie Wilson is reportedly facing a foreclosure on her L.A. home. According to documents from the L.A. County Recorder’s Office obtained by TMZ, Wilson has defaulted on her mortgage and still owes a whopping $1.6 million on her house. Unless she quickly pulls together the cash, Wilson’s house will hit the auction block in just a matter of days. Wilson, who recently appeared with fellow Wilson Phillips members Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips in [...]
It seems like everybody is picking up the story about Carnie Wilson being fired by The Fresh Diet for starting her own cheesecake company while being our spokesperson. While there are many more positive stories out there about TFD, we guess this story does have a silver lining. After all, the publicity is leading more people to find out how wonderful our fresh, gourmet meals really are. And, there is certainly a humorous side to the story as well, which was discussed by the always funny Chelsea Handler on her smash-hit show Chelsie Lately! Check out what Chelsea and her [...]
The Fresh Diet consistently gets so much good press that we are not used to being reduced to tabloid fodder. However, the story of how The Fresh Diet was forced to part ways with our former spokesperson Carnie Wilson has certainly been getting around. First reported in Star, the story made the newest issue of People magazine. The fact that Carnie insisted on making her own cheesecake when she could have had the best cheesecake in the world included in her Fresh Diet cooler bag and delivered right to her door is still almost inconceivable to us! We regret the fact that the Wilson-Phillips star couldn’t Hold On!
It’s too bad that Carnie Wilson couldn’t hold on for one more day! In case you missed it, Star magazine recently printed an article about our former spokesperson. Sadly, Carnie was indeed dropped by TFD for eating cheesecake. But, the tabloid writer did get one thing wrong. On The Fresh Diet, you really CAN have your cheesecake and eat it, too! Just be sure to stick to the kind prepared by Chef Yos. You won’t feel deprived when you eat our fresh, gourmet meals, but you do have to stick to the 3 meals and 2 snacks we deliver in your Fresh Diet cooler bag. Incidentally, to all of her fans out there, we are genuinely sorry things didn’t work out with Carnie, and we wish her the best!
