Here’s mine: Many years ago my mother brought home a bottle of this liquid protein “stuff”. The bottle looked to me like a shampoo bottle and the “stuff” looked to me like shampoo. Tasted awful too! Anyway you were supposed to drink this stuff a few times and you will lose weight. I lasted one day. Really rediculous and silly way to lose weight!

Wackiest diet ever was the GM diet where you eat fruit one day, veggies one day, baked potato for breakfast the next, all bananas and milk for another day. This goes on for 7 days!
I’ve tried MANY wacky diets. The easiest: bacon and eggs for breakfast/lunch/dinner with pork rinds as a snack for 5 days (I lost 6 pounds and my cholestrol jumped to 289). The one that made me hungriest: diet jello for 4 days to fit into my prom dress (It worked, but I gained 5 pounds the next two days). The worst: The syrup and cayenne pepper diet. The most successful: thefreshdiet
I have finally learned THERE IS NO QUICK FIX! Eat healthy and in moderation and get out there and excercise!

Did a painful (yet effective) diet for 3 entire weeks consisting of veggies (mostly raw) and some fruit. Very hard (not so yummy as a pre-packaged meal lol) but eventually you get used to it. But of course the weight comes back on once you eat “normal” foods again. Sheesh!
Wackiest diet ever was the milk, fruit and veggie diet plus I had these beads taped behind my ears and I had to rub them every 3 hours and do this deep breathing exercise. What the diet consisted of was 2 cups of whole milk for two days, then up to 2lbs. of fruits and veggies the next day – alternating between milk and fruits and veggies. I kept this up for a month – lost 35 lbs. but once I went off – it all came back.
We’re off to a wacky start. Keep ‘em coming and thanks for playing. Can’t wait to give those lucky winners a FREE week of meal delivery!

I think I have tried every diet known to mankind. But the craziest I am sad to admit was the Astrology Diet based on the signs of the zodiac. My zodiac was a fiery sign and I was instructed to eat cooling foods like dairy, etc. Ended up with high cholesterol and upset stomach.
My wackiest diet had to be the “All Desserts, All The Time” diet. Yes, it was self made. I figured that since I indulged in desserts most of the time anyway, then turning each meal into a dessert would be the best course of action. I planned on carefully counting calories to make sure that I didn’t exceed 1500. For breakfast, I ate fruit, ice cream and chocolate sauce. Lunch was some sort of chocolate cake. And dinner was donuts and ice cream again. Snacks were candy like sour patch kids, Mike and Ikes and Sweet Tarts. I lasted for only three days on this diet before realizing the sugar rushes, ups and downs in mood, low energy and feeling of general unhealthiness were about the worst thing I could do to myself. However, on positive thing that happened was that for the next month, I didn’t want to even SEE a dessert!
Allison, we’re not going to ever have an all dessert diet, but our desserts ARE awesome.
Thanks to all for playing. Keep your entree’s coming and don’t forget to tell your friends and family to play!

My craziest diet included counting every single calorie I ate using the Diet Power program and than going to the gym and working out until I burned at least the equivalent of the calories I consumed. Which basically means I didn’t eat much more than 2 meals a day and spent an average of 3 hours a day in the gym. I actually did this for 3 months.
My craziest diet was called the US Ski Team Diet. You can only stay on it for two weeks and you better like eating eggs because you have to eat 28 eggs a week. You can only have them poached or boiled. Also you had to eat 9 grapefruits a week. Drink plenty of water and clear tea and coffee black without sugar. No eating between meals and all vegatables are without butter. It is a very long two weeks.
Well … I am pretty sure that most people who have struggled with their weight have tried those disgusting “weight loss shakes” at one point or another. I have always been chubby and one time in 4th grade my mom started having me drink strawberry SlimFast shakes for breakfast!! I was late for school so after my disgusting fake-strawberry flavored shake, I ran to the bus stop and I guess it didn’t sit well. Had choir practice first thing in the morning and while we were singing I threw up hot pink SlimFast grossness! Needless to say I got made fun of for a long time after that! Lesson learned – don’t drink diet shakes, especially when you are only 10 years old!
wackiest( and probably dumbest) diet was eating a bowl of some sugary cereal for breakfast and a small salad and a piece of garlic bread for lunch and dinner. I THEN attempting to run before breakfast in the morning and not snack throughout the day resulting in dizziness and almost having a fainting spell on the bus in front of a bunch of people.
the worst diet i’ve ever tried was called the “fig nuton diet.” basically I walked around all day with a sleeve of fig nutons. that’s all i ate for the entire day. and let me tell you, it did not work!
The craziest diet I did was the Master Cleanse- but I also did a pre and post cleanse! I only ate raw vegetables, fruits for 2 days prior to the cleanse and then only vegetable/fruit juice the day before I started the cleanse. Then i only drank the lemonade, cayenne pepper concoction for 12 days. After the clease I did the fruit/veggie juice again. i lost 10 lbs but have gained them all back the past year. (This is why these silly diets don’t work!) I’ve learned now to have just a healthy lifestyle.

My senior year of HS I ate Crispix cereal for breakfast and lunch (no milk just a sandwich baggy of cereal), and then dinner with my family. My whole family is overweight, and I was the smallest (although not that small) of them – so anytime I mentioned diet around them they gawked. This is the only way I could diet without the pressure from them. It worked (purely b/c it was low calorie) – and now I look at the Special K diet commercials and think “i did that first”
I tried Isagenix… that was probably the craziest or rather most annoying… It worked well for my mother and not so much for me. The whole thing about it was that you were getting toxins out of your body. You started the diet doing just 4 days with their shakes and this stuff called “Ionic Supreme” that tasted horrible!!! And they had these things called snacks that were TINY PELLETS of a sugary chaulky substance (no joke). It was smaller than a quarter!!! After the first 4 days of getting used to the products you then did a 9 day program, which was… 2 day cleanse, following 5 days of shakes and ionic supreme and ending with a 2 day cleanse. People were losing between 10 to 15 pounds in one week. It didn’t do much for me and the products were pretty gross (chaukly tasting) and left you with a HORRIBLE taste in your mouth.
Not to mention it was all very very very expensive and you had to “become a member” through someone else that was doing it. AND you had to put your credit card information in, which would automatically charge you every 30 days for an entire new shipment of stuff. I hate that!!!
I one time had begun inquiring about the acai berry supplement + cleanse that helped you lose weight. This is VERY wacky! When you get onto the website they make it sound sooo promising and easy. And I put my information in to see about their “free trial”, which required you to enter in your information… and then enter in your credit card information. The fine print stated that they would charge your card after 14 days and it would be a monthly shipment costing over $80. So i closed out the website… which then gave me pop-ups asking me if I was “sure i didn’t want to try this diet??”
THEN… I got a phone call from some guy who was a rep for them who proceeded to try to get me to try the product. I told him that I didn’t have time for the conversation and declined. Before we hung up, he said “HAVE FUN GETTING FAT!”
Can you believe he had the nerve???? First of all- this guy has no idea how fat or thin I am? And I was a customer INQUIRING and he had the nerve to say that to me?
Since then, I have seen many websites calling that “diet” a scam.
Everyone– please stay away from these websites! Do not enter your info in them! They will HARRASS you!
sincerely,
Michelle
Wow. It seems you all have done a lot of wacky diets. Of course so have I. One time I did a fasting diet (shakes) where I got dehydrated and wound up in the hospital getting IV fluids.
The thing is, we all try to do the “quick fix” diet-wise, when the bottom line is sound healthy meals and exercise.
Thanks to all who have shared their “secrets” with us so far. Keep them coming.

The craziest diet I’ve ever tried was Jenny Craig. They have a very limited selection of foods for vegetarians so I would end up eating the same 5 foods over and over again. Not to mention, all of their food was frozen. Blah.
I did the Lemonade Diet for 10 days. I was only able to drink lemonade made from fresh squeezed lemons, maple syrup and cayenne pepper, and that’s it. I also had to drink a glass of salt water every morning. It was the nastiest thing I’ve ever done to lose weight!
I bought some diet pills online which ended up just giving me a strange rash on my mouth. Taught me not ingest strange things from the internet. I didn’t even loose any weight.
I also did atkins for a year. I was doing it so hardcore I was loosing my hair.
I don’t think I can beat beads affixed to my head behind my ears but I did try Atkins briefly, but it was just…too meaty & too salty & made me feel not just weighed down but like I was some kind of giant destructive vacuum cleaner! yeeech. Not my idea of “fresh” or “healthy!” to say the least. I’m not a vegetarian but I am very veggie friendly so I’d certainly choose a different direction.
