Today we were on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, shooting out latest Fresh Diet commercial. It was a bit chilly, and windy (which made food presentation a bit tricky), but we got some great footage.
The premise was to have people try our Fresh Diet meals with no preconceived notions.
We put up no signs, and when we asked people to participate we only told them it was a “food taste test”. I wanted people’s natural reactions to the food they were eating. Of course once they tried it and liked it, we told them that it was diet food (got a lot of good reactions there) and we could deliver it to their homes (they liked that)
We learned a few things today.
1. It’s not easy to get people to taste food without telling them what they are tasting (or at least from what restaurant, which they assumed it was from)
2. By not telling people it was diet food, we probably didn’t get the BIG reaction shot. In other words had people knew in advance that the food was for dieting, they would have been much more expressive in their initial taste. So from a TV commercial point of view, the reactions were more subtle, as we set the bar high by not providing any info about the source of the food. This was good though especially when we told them it was part of a balanced food plan from which they could lose weight.
3. It was a blast introducing people to The Fresh Diet this way.
So, while the cameras were rolling (and before) I snapped some pictures of the setup and the tent and some of our people. Here is part one.
More to come, stay tuned.
