Last night my wife and I had dinner in an Argentinean restaurant. The number one item on their menu was a 28 ounce skirt steak. 28 ounces!
That’s enough steak to feed a family of four.
Restaurants have to compete heavily for customers. One way they compete is based on portion size. In the last few years, more and more buffet, and all-you-can-eat restaurants are popping up. And portions are getting larger and larger.
Why?
Consumers over the years have been preprogrammed to see larger and larger portions for their money. And now it’s to the point of being an epidemic that is causing our nation to be more and more obese.
It’s so bad that if a restaurant tried to serve “normal” portions of meals, they wouldn’t be in business very long.
Face it; we consume way too much food than we need in order to keep our bodies running correctly.
Your diet – The bigger they come, the harder they fall…
One of the hardest parts of any diet, especially at the beginning, is learning to eat normal portions. Thanks to restaurants we are totally desensitized to proper portions. Our larger bodies are used to and crave large portions, which means that we need to retrain our stomachs (and our brains) to think realistically.
Good News for you about this.
The Fresh Diet understands your struggle. Your Fresh Diet meals, while smaller, are filled with flavor. And more flavor leads to feeling satiated (full) faster.
Additionally, balance has a lot to do with satiation. When food is properly balanced with lean proteins, good fats and highly efficient and low glycemic carbs. your body (like better gas in a car) runs more efficiently.
The benefits of balance and satiation:
